The guiding book in Deciple's life instructs him that it's ok to enslave your fellow man, keep women of foreign birth as sex slaves, kill homosexuals, marry hundreds of wives, stone to death disrespectful children, cut babies out of the wombs of mothers, commit blood sacrifice, stone to death brides who aren't virgins and justify any atrocity known to man by invoking the name of god.
... but he won't stand for it when people show anger about such things.

That's about it folks. They see their arguments torn apart, but instead of acknowledge the fails they get hung up on the insults. Its the christian martyr complex.

No, I just like laughing at god botherers.

Good old "belief" - you can assert what you like and it doesn't have to be true, a recurring theme in theism.
Quote:Most are very cold and bitter individuals that are clearly unable to think about anything that questions their beliefs and are masters of diversion.
This is an insane thing for a person so closed off to knowledge as yourself, to say. Atheists are unable to think about anything? How do you think we ended up atheist!

Give me an address of a christian forum that you frequent, I will register, go on there and ask honest questions - what type of response will I get? Is this a trick question? I'll get summarily banned, won't I?

The believers I know in real life are pretty much all just fine. I rarely run across froot loops such as some of those we get here. The ones I do see are usually on Australian Atheist forum. As soon as anyone starts preaching,we restrict them to Fantasy Island. There they may rant to their little minds' content, without bothering sane people. When ignored, most soon leave.

Fantasy Island? What a great name for a restricted area, especially in the context of the subject.

We don't have a playbook. We do tend to have a low tolerance for bad arguments, which is not the same thing as a low tolerance for theists, although it may appear that way to you.

I bet you believe that because it fits your preconceptions about us.

Who has had to be rescued from you? If I went to a Christian forum, would I find that some people have a hard time standing on their own two feet and others must come to the rescue? Or would I find that in a forum where my point of view is a minority and contrary to the majority, there are plenty of people to object to what I say?

Most theists who come here are dishonest wretches who couldn't think their way out of a paper bag. The few who don't fit that profile are like a breath of fresh air and tend to last as long as they care to stay. I suspect that's a property of the internetz though, in real life I wouldn't expect a theist who knows I'm an atheist to waltz into my home to preach at me, then wonder why I'm not very welcoming.

What's the point? You're not sticking around to see the results. I do fine on religous forums because I'm careful to be a good guest. I lurk a bit to get the lay of the land and read the rules and am careful to abide by them--after all, I am agreeing to them when I sign up. I'm there because I really want to learn something, and tend not to be very active once I've learned what I came to find out. I tend to be sympathetic, as I understand that under different circumstances, I could have been one of them. Of course, the fair comparison would be to find each one of your posts, change the words just enough to make it sound like they're coming from an atheist, and post THAT on a Christian forum to see what kind of response we get.

You know, this is the only post I know you by, and it reeks of intolerance, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness. I'm not the one with the paint, you're rolling around in it and blaming me for pointing out that it's all over you.

Passive-aggressive much? Your well wishes ring a little hollow following your diatribe. I hope you gain some perspective in your further adventures on the intertubez.

Are you fucking kidding me? HOW many of yourselves have you ran into while being someone in their right mind?
Tolerance: noun 1. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race , religion , nationality, etc., differ from one's own.
[Your people oppress everyone they come in contact with unless they're fellow morons. Come off that shit.]
Bigot: noun 1. intolerant person: somebody with strong opinions, especially on politics, religion, or ethnicity, who refuses to accept different views.
[If the gun fits, cock it.]
Narrow Minded: adj. Lacking tolerance, breadth of view, or sympathy; petty.
[EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN I HAVE EVER MET fits into these categorgies, and atheists have not made these terms up, if you want to blame anyone for how WE view YOU, blame yourselves. We only know what we see.]
“Whoever will be free must make himself free. Freedom is no fairy gift to fall into a man's lap. What is freedom? To have the will to be responsible for one's self.” - Max Stirner.
