Welcome nonetheless.

Thank you for the welcome, and I'm not sure quite what you mean by the idea of being religious--religion is very broad after all!

Welcome
I can't imagine why it would be, but either way, I went from strong atheist to weak atheist to theist.

Thank you for the welcome.

Mary Immaculate, star of the morning
Chosen before the creation began
Chosen to bring for your bridal adorning
Woe to the serpent and rescue to man.

Sinners, we honor your sinless perfection;
Fallen and weak, for your pity we plead;
Grand us the shield of your sovereign protection,
Measure your aid by the depth of our need.

Bend from your throne at the voice of our crying,
Bend to this earth which your footsteps have trod;
Stretch out your arms to us, living and dying,
Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.

RE: Hello
Because a strong atheist knows what a load of old fucking hooey the idea of God is and understands the reasons why that's the case, that's why. However, atheists are in danger of creating their own 'No True Scotsman' there, so I'll downgrade NAC's statement to say it's most irregular for things to work that way.

Except strong atheists can easily learn that most of the arguments for strong atheism he "knows" are based on ignorance and become a weak atheist. Strong atheist straight to theist without any stopover might be more difficult though. Undecided

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

ROFLOL

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

Welcome. Clearly RC isn't well regarded, but a lot of that has to do with corruption and power over people.

I look forward to a different christian perspective on many issues, and smart enough to recognise that philosophical criticism =/= personal criticism.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?
The f**king janitor or the dude who runs the waterslide. Throughout history every mystery. Ever solved has turned out to be. Not Magic.

Lol no need to apologize, to me it makes no difference but I think to some atheists they see it as a challenge somehow, that they have to prove I wasn't a "real atheist". Thinking

To be fair, Christians do the same with those who claim to be ex-devout Christians turned atheist.

Or maybe its less "threat" and more that when you are completely wrapped up in something you cannot imagine leaving it, so you project that onto others. "Knowing what I know now, how can I see things like that?" or something.

I think the mind is more flexible than people in general give it credit for.

Yes it is and some people retain the mind's malleability well into their adult years and remain as gullible as children.
