-I need to save up money to buy a relatively cheap ring, nothing too poor mind you, it's a preliminary.
-I'm in full time education & can't get a job due to lack if experience (so no summer job unfortunately)
-I have very little regular income, this basically means I have a monthly 'allowance' (I hate that word -.-) of 20-25GBP
-In this past month, the first of my saving, I've gathered 50GBP as a starting point.
-I have until april to acquire the currency.

my question to you, dear co-non-believers/skeptics/generally pretty cool people, is this; how would i best go about saving money? Thinking

any help would be much appreciated!

Well, personally I think you should pros pone the idea of buying a ring and wait until you've got a decent income first. Set up a savings account and put some money aside. Finding work is fucking tough, I know! I'm very experienced and very used to hard work. Worked as a lumberjack for quite a while, didn't help me get anywhere though. Tongue

So, keep looking and hope there is something out there for ya. For now I think, it would be best if you waited until you got more money coming in. However if you are that desperate, put aside what you can and try not to touch it. Mind you marriage will cost somewhat more than a little ring will.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

I'd really rather buy it myself, like I said, this really represents a level of formality that is needed and I really don't think I'd be given the money to buy an engagement ring, we're not exactly rich either.

Found a really nice amber one, on the cheap side though. Tell me what you think Liam"
(sorry, bad at quoting)

well personally I think it's lovely, however, I can hardly buy it for myself and I think she'd rather something white gold with a sky blue stone. The problem being she is allergic to most metals and has a preference for thick bands and sky blue is her favourite colour Tongue so basically, I really like it but I don't think it'd be a success
Well, you don't need to be rich. Both families can contribute to this ring buying and you can hold the engagement together in some place.

I work full time 40+ hours a week, have a wife and kid, and I'm going to school full time. It's not hard. If you want something that costs money, get a job. School has to be a priority, but it's not hard to have a job too.

yeh but i have to go to uni and im pretty sure that 40+ hours is more than slightly detrimental to your results. If I take on serious work I would probably drop to Bs and the uni i want to go to requires As so I don't really want to jeopardise that.

Yeah that's my point. I'm not saying everyone can do full time work and full time school, but it's almost always possible to hold at least a part time job. If you truly want to marry the girl bad enough, you'll find a way to pay for the ring honestly--by paying for it with your money that you work for, not from anyone else.

Fold up some paper (origami ring) and put IOU on it and if she is a good one she will say yes. Just make sure to do it in a romantic setting like picnic or beach or some shit. if she says no DUMP THE SHALLOW METERIALISTIC BITCH. But when she says yes I can almost garuntee that she will keep the paper ring forever. For exaple my wife still has a book mark I made from 2 stickers out of a warhammer 40k box set(Wraithlord)... the book mark is now 18 years old and she still uses it and panics when she cant find it..........
Did I make a good point? thumbs up Smile I cant help it I'm a Kudos whore. P.S. Jesus is a MYTH.

kılıç probably has a hard time with that concept. His parents haven't chosen his bride yet.
