Hi from NZ
Hello everyone, just a short intro about myself - I'm a NZer of Romanian origin (not here to skim your credit cards though); I grew up in a VERY religious family and was made to attend church on every available occasion. My grandmother had more religious paintings and artifacts in her house than the Vatican Museum, but all this didn't stop from making me realize something was fishy about the whole story. I truly stopped believing the god story when I was about 10, but for obvious reasons I had to keep it to myself for some years. Even now (when everybody around me knows my position) I have a hard time with my elderly mother who is convinced this is just an episode and I will get my sanity back and return to the "true belief". I find this forum interesting and challenging (I've been reading a lot for the past two weeks) and I'm looking forward to take part in discussions.
I have no problem sharing a common ancestor with the apes; it's being related to some people that bothers me.

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Hiya Bravo ans welcome to AF! ^_^
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
