Fuck, that's awful. With the insanely accurate and able units we have, I don't understand why airstrikes occur during anything short of a flat out battle.

I get that, Chuck, but we have some units that are so stealthy as to be invisible. If there are civilians around, we should opt for that. Soldiers sign up to risk their lives. Children do not.

More than one case, for sure. There was the most recent incident and also a case where SEALS were shot down in the Hindu Kush mountains while trying to rescue a trapped SEAL team. I believe that was when Michael Monsoor earned his Medal of Honor.
At any rate, there have been plenty of instances where an air strike target is a building. Buildings are not mobile. I'm not saying they should never be used, but it is often overkill, as evidenced by this incident. There is no denying that this should not have happened.

It is a trick we have learned from the Israelis. They don't give a flying fuck who else dies as long as they get their target.
