Modern examples of gullibility as evidence against Christian claims

RE: Modern examples of gullibility as evidence against Christian claims

Ahahaha! Lovely turn of phrase, DP. "fact checking commandos" I love it.

If I didn't already have "phantasia kataleptike" as my rank, I'd be changing it to "fact checking commando" tout de suite. (Though that's a much more fitting sobriquet for one such as Minimalist.)

He could always teleport a cannibalistic sex offender to your house and then transmit the results to youtube.
I guarantee it'd get more than a few thumbs up and lols from people you've pissed off. :-)

You guys underestimate what crazy things some christians will do to "win souls." I remember when I was a fundy at age 14 I tried to pay the neighborhood kids to watch creation science seminar tapes. They wouldn't do it even if I paid them.
My ignore list

I think it was 10 U.S. dollars.

OK, two creation vids and a Lincoln. My soul is cheap; however, I will not barter for less unless your name is George Banks.

I'd love to sell my soul, but unfortunately that ship has already sailed. When I was six, my family had been experiencing a protracted stretch of economic hardship, so in order to make ends meet, my father sold my soul for a week's groceries, a couple of used tires for the station wagon, and a 6 month trial subscription to Life magazine. I'm still wondering who got the better end of that deal.

1) Sounds like the neighborhood kids had more sense than you at that age.

2) "Creation science" is an oxymoron.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Quote:There are many problems with this argument, but I think one the strongest refutations of it would be just to notice how many crazy things many people believe in today's modern society. Just think of all the faith healers that many people still fall for (often literally fall for) even though they have been exposed many times to be frauds.

I'm not sure how this applies since those frauds don't last long.
