Great. So you won't have any trouble demonstrating that these things are in fact true, rather than just what you happen to believe?

RE: a question for atheists
i cant prove it, nobody can, but i do feel free and not fooled by myself
i think that how i act depend on how i think not on how my molecules are organized
and as i said i dont see the point of being conscious for the sake of being conscious if we are slave of the laws
(plus if you think about it it is better for all the living things to have a god who create universe than to have universes that exist just because it work, i mean you can imagine universe that seriously look like hell)

I started to reply that this was an argument from incredulity. However after reading it again I decided its just argument from dumb ass.

But don't you think that's exactly how you would feel if you were being fooled?

Not sure what you mean by this.

Quote:we can imagine other universes with life being way more difficult

Some of us can, absolutely.

Quote:how lucky we are to be in our universe

I wasn't aware that luck, except by clever turn of the phrase, had anything to do with that. What other universe would we be in?

Quote:If everything is directed by the laws of our universe

Directed is probably a poor choice of words, it carries baggage which does not apply. As far as we can tell, nothing is "directing" anything at all.

Quote:we are just a bunch of organic robot being fooled

Surely we aren't -just- that. You may be missing a few billion adjectives one might apply to the subject.

Quote:we are fooled to be free

Free from what? Fooled by whom or by what?

Quote:fooled to live

A large majority of that is on autopilot. No one has to trick you into breathing, for example.

Quote:why are we even conscious?

Offhand, because it's useful. Just taking a look at some of your other posts in this regard, specifically the notion that it doesn't "add anything". Really? Consciousness doesn't add anything? So, the fact that the large majority of dominant forms of life on this planet are all (to varying degrees) conscious creatures doesn't seem to suggest that consciousness might add something?

Quote:we can imagine the same universe filled with the same but unconscious peoples

We'd be playing fast and loose with the words conscious and peoples, sure, but we can imagine a great many things. If you meant that we can imagine the same rock (within this universe) filled with "less sentient" lifeforms, yeah, we can imagine that. Not only can we imagine it, it just so happened to be te case, once upon a time. And?

Quote:yet we are all fooled

Fooled about what, and by whom or what.......?

Quote:whats the point?

Strangely enough, I'm left asking myself the same at right about this point......
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Still you, if you think what you just wrote makes sense.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

if we are entirely of flesh we obey entirely to the laws of nature so our freedom is just us being fooled because we dont see what influence us

actually you cant prove that other people are conscious, you can only know that you are conscious
you are just assuming that they are conscious because they look like you

fooled to live

Assumptions from start to finish.
Firstly I'm not sure if "he" is somehow personifying the universe or referring to a deity. If its the latter than that is an assumption for obvious reasons.
You assume we are lucky without knowing the odds.
You assume we know all the laws of the universe, we only know what applies to our very small part of it.
You assume we are fooled.
You assume there must be a point.

I would be inclined to agree if I understood our new playthings grammar, I don't think this one has been made very well and we should think about returning it to the shop and getting our money back.
