TIL (Today I Learned)

RE: TIL (Today I Learned)
TIL that this board only starts to liven up when it's way past what I ought to consider my bedtime. I see a hell of a lot of dawns.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Indeed.

I keep 'Tiger Balm' for muscle pain and 'Hemocane' (with lignocaine) for me piles.

Yes, they are indeed kept far apart, ever since that unfortunate incident with Vick's Vapour Rub when I was 14 . (the jar looks a bit like a Vaseline jar---)

"I ain't got time enough to meme!"

I learned that I'm not on the fringe in my views about the intersection between cognitive science and the religious mind, there's actually a fairly healthy mainstream that I lucked into. (And the lecturer who introduced me to this fact distributed 200 MB of such info he developed for presentations to those with a flash drive handy. Win!)

I also learned that my sister city, St. Paul, basically shuts down on Saturday. I had to walk over 1/2 a mile just to find a Quickie mart where I paid $8 for a ham sandwich, potato chips, and two pops. I mean literally everything was closed. McDonald's. Jimmy John's. Subway. Everything! I had to walk 3 blocks just to find an exit down from the skyway system to the street level. Everything, and I mean everything, was closed.
