Libya
If nothing else, at lease normal Libyans are not afraid of the bastard terrorists and are willing to condemn them.

Quote:There are increasing signs that the attack on the US embassy in Libya was orchestrated by Al-Qaeda rather than local groups.

The Quilliam Foundation is nearly certain while the New York Times says US officials increasingly believe it to be the case.

Libyans seem to have reached that conclusion too. Yesterday, they held this demonstration in Benghazi

There is also a tweet at the bottom of the blog that says that 10 Libyan security force soldiers died defending the embassy.

Good for them. It takes a lot of courage to show your beliefs with the kind of crazy, nut-bags running around that caused this whole thing.

I'd take bets on that it won't make it on any stations.

RE: Libya
Will it make any station that the film at the center was posted onto Youtube by the same walking excrement Terry Jones of the "Internaitonal Burn a Koran day?"

Apparently he does not sleep well without fresh blood spilled that day on his hands.

RE: Libya
I saw an interview on BBC news earlier with a middle east expert who said that the reason it's an anti-American protest is that people from these countries are so used to having the government choose and control what is published and printed/filmed etc and publishing it themselves, that they cannot accept that this was one guy, but that it must be the US government.

Interesting... This makes sense though. I don't think we'll see a true western-style democracy in the Middle East anytime soon. You can't just expect people to go from Point A (repressive, theocratic government) to Point Z (completely democratic, free, open, and transparent government) overnight. Plus, there's the whole issue of the rather biased idea that the Western view of how governments should be is the right thing for every nation. It's gotta come from the bottom up in each individual culture. We can influence, but can't install.

Very touching. These are the change makers. I wish them luck.

They wouldn't tell the story they want to tell.

It wouldn't fit their "narrative"

RE: Libya
America during the cold war gave support to radical Islamic organizations. The reason for this was to prevent socialism. After collapse of SSBC, America tried to make radical Islam and moderate Islam. But this failed to work.

Weapons that killed the American ambassador, said that weapons given to the rebels by the United States.
