Why I am skeptic

RE: Why I am skeptic
FT,

Why anthropomorphize something that is just as easy classified as what it is, forces that are measurable and do not seem to have any intelligence. It is kind of like arguing that your computer has a soul because it works better some days than other so it must be feeling emotions that cause it to perform differently from day to day. That may seem a bit crazy but so is labeling natural forces as "god". I know plenty of people who go that route though and I have even done it. There is an extreme reluctance built up from religious teachings that brings about an emotional response. It seems akin to William Burroughs revelation that he was a homosexual with just one word replaced.

"I shall never forget the unspeakable horror that froze the lymph in my glands--the lymph glands that is, of course--when the baneful word seared my reeling brain: I was an atheist."

Ok, maybe I am being a bit overdramatic, but signing on as an atheist does conflict with the idea of being saved by the blood of Jesus. Ergo, to hell straightaway!

No no I am not essentially labeling these natural forces as God. All I am saying is that they might be controlling our emotional behavior too. This case will make them a superior force. But this is all speculation with no ground evidence.

The "laws" of which you speak are descriptive not prescriptive. They aren't initiated by forces; forces are described by the laws.
Quote:Is it possible that these forces and many other forces are the ones that control our universe? This is just a thought that, what if these forces not only influence our physical world, but they play a part in forming our emotions too. In that case will I be correct in calling these superior forces, a superior deity?
Forces have never been seen to act in any way that gives them any status as conscious entities. Thus they are not "in control". If there were such a force, it would still follow certain laws, and thus control would be limited.

I would personally say a deity would have to have some kind of power over the universe, and at least have some form of intelligence.

Well you are right, even if such a force existed, it will not be a God as such a force does not have any form of intelligence. Plus such forces explain those laws as opposed to controlling them. Sorry for totally skipping that part.

I'm sorry Adrian ... I will not stand for this! Intelligent Design Theory is "oooh, this looks designed"?????

No Sir, it is "Oooh, Ahhh ... this looks designed"!
