Dysgenics - anything to worry about?

Dysgenics - anything to worry about?
Modern life has effectively countered the natural selection process that created us .
With the safety net of medicine and social support networks those that would have been picked off in the natural world go on to have familys , passing on that genetic information and the adverse relationship between intelligence and the amount of childern one has is exactly the opposite of what it would have been in the pre-industrial world.

With gentetic mutation we are always changing from one generation to the next, one way or another and without natural selction to guide that in the direction of survival , what does this mean for the long term genetic health of the human race? Are we in a downward spiral? What can we do to counter it ?or do we not need worry at all?

(maybe a ruined planet is not all we can pass down to our chidren!)
