Atheism Kills Off the Ambition of the Lower Classes and Makes them Anti-Social

1. Secularism gave us the modern world.

2. Why wouldn't Atheism ruin the upper class? no correlation there.

3. Your sentence makes no fucking sense. Atheism is just the rejection of god claims, which clearly don't help you or others anyway. Ever heard the saying, god helps those who help themselves, couldn't say it better myself, you, have to do everything yourself.

(September 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm)Blackrook Wrote: A person who believes in atheism is less motivated in life,

Fucking nonsense, if Atheists know this is the one life they've got that correlates to them caring more about this one and only life. Where as the Christian can completely forget about this world, because it's just a place to wipe your feet before you get to heaven, the real goal of Christianity. Forever worshiping a sadomasochist, a cosmic Kim Jong Un.

(September 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm)Blackrook Wrote: less likely to start a family,

Again, that makes no sense. If Atheists know that the only way they live on is through their kids, you could easily make that inference about Atheists right there. Where as Christians aren't damned for not having kids, they can just praise Jesus and go to heaven without having kids, the same as an Atheist since we are not required to have kids and you aren't either. The motivation seems to be higher for an Atheist to have kids from my point of view.

(September 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm)Blackrook Wrote: less likely to try hard in his career,

Quick question I wanted to ask since the beginning, how the fuck do you know this information? Are these all just your wild theories about atheists? or do you have some actual fucking citations to go along with these ridiculous assumptions about Atheists. And again, how does that make any sense, An Atheist gets one life to impress their employers where as the Christian is just doing good work to get another life when they die, which makes no sense either.

(September 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm)Blackrook Wrote: less likely to do what it takes to support a family and be a positive contribution to his community.

Fuck you, fuck you, fuuuuuuuck, you, for presuming that a religious person has more what it takes to raise a child, as least an Atheist parent prepares their children for life and death where as a Christian's parents are liars who pretend there is some life after and some sky daddy watching. And yeah, there are so many Atheist communities out there, so many Atheist churches to bring the communities together, so much money from tax free status, since atheism is a religion right? How the fuck can you possibly know that Atheists contribute less? where are your fucking statistics to back this up you scumbag. There are plenty of secular charities that do not require you to convert before they give a starving kid a sandwich.

(September 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm)Blackrook Wrote: Also, atheism is a major contributor to such social issues as domestic abuse, child abuse, alcoholism, drug abuse, and crimes of moral turpitude.

Quite the opposite is true. Especially within the U.S. where the more religious states have far worse societal ills and the more secular states have better, well, everything.

Muslims and Christians are the most likely to beat and rape children, how is that possible? xD

(September 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm)Blackrook Wrote: Atheism actually has no positive effect on society, and for that reason should be discouraged.

Delusions and false beliefs have horrible effects on society. The positive side of Atheism or just Skepticism is we're being honest with our children if we teach them the truth. Even if the truth is I don't know, or it seems that death is the end. If we all knew this fact, we would strive to stay alive longer, we'd invest more heavily in things like life extension, and we would be more accountable to each other since nobody believes they can just say sorry to a magic man instead of the person they wronged.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

Blackrook, you make a number of unsubtantiated claims about athiests. However looking at the facts and using your criteria, atheism should be strongly encouraged as it obviously benefits society at large:

How so? Atheist are poorly represented in the lower classed and better represented in the upper classes. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/daniel-cox...46894.html

Atheist have a lower divorce rate than theists. http://www.salon.com/2013/11/01/atheist_...s_partner/ A higher education and income level than Christians. http://atheistscholar.org/AtheistPsychol...phics.aspx And lower teen pregnacy rates. http://secularist10.hubpages.com/hub/Rel...-Pregnancy

Athiest actually commit fewer crimes than the religion. http://www.atheismresource.com/2010/athe...ligious-do

Actually atheists have a better track record at staying together than religious couples in the U.S. https://www.barna.org/barna-update/artic...s-released

Besides all of the positive effects mentioned above, scientists are much more likely to atheist than deist. http://www.pewforum.org/2009/11/05/scien...nd-belief/

Having had this pointed out to your repeatedly, you cry foul. Oh poor me, these people are rude.

News flash: making baseless claims against a group of people is rude. Making such claims in their homes or institutions is ruder. You are in our house. Behave yourself. Would you like us to present these statistics in your church? Thought not.

But at least they'd have the advantage of being true.

This is the most ridiculous necro ever.

People like Blackrook need to be prevented from speaking ever. This is how a christian debates. Throws out tons of easily disprovable "facts"/blanket statements and depends on time running out on the realist disproving these ridiculous statements while not being being able to bring up their own points since they have to spend their time completely disproving their filth. Thank you to everyone for showing on forums that we have time to show how ridiculous these "arguments" are.

A person who believes in atheism is less motivated in life, less likely to start a family, less likely to try hard in his career, less likely to do what it takes to support a family and be a positive contribution to his community.

Also, atheism is a major contributor to such social issues as domestic abuse, child abuse, alcoholism, drug abuse, and crimes of moral turpitude.

Atheist marriages are less stable and more likely to break up when Christians, especially Catholics, will stick things through and make it work.

ROFLOL Now this beats everything.
I know the poster of this probably does not exist but I will rant as if he did just for my amusement.

I love how religious minds claim that Atheism brings about dispare and hope yet if it is truth then it is truth. Atheists want truth and if the truth is "there is no god" then so be it, if you want hope you can find something else that appeases your definition of hope BUT Atheism is entirely full of hope because hope is linked to truth usually. Also Atheism is not a belief as I do not have to suspend my imagination to believe in bullshit.

Imagine a child being told he or she is sinful and will burn in hell for eternity unless accepting the "love" of a cosmic overlord. Most atheists do start hard careers why on earth do you think people like Dawkins, Harris, and Dennet exist?

Christians have contributed nothing to the American community that cannot be done by an atheist but what is exclusive to Christianity is the type of ignorance and suffering it promotes through it's teachings.

Also do you really wish to go on about statistics of Atheism when in the vast majority of secular societies such things as alcoholism, murder and abuse go down? It is Atheists who teach the concept of Humanism and that no child should be harmed yet Christian will pronounce "Spare the rod spoil the child".

Atheism has the most positive effect on a society possible I may add and it is reason and rationality.

I think that one reason that religion is waning around the world is that they are no longer able to effectively silence those who speak against it or reveal its deficiencies. Censoring religion isn't the answer. On the contrary, I think we will move past religion more quickly if we allow religious people to continue to express their beliefs in an environment where no view is censored, including opposing views.

People like the OP show what the effect is of allowing others to speak. He isn't even bothering to try to promote or defend his belief system, he is clumsily trying to present it as a least-harmful option. That's what happens when people like him can no longer silence dissenting voices. I say, let them speak; they can't get their feet into their mouths unless they open them first.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

No you are completely right. I never approve of censorship. Just wanted to state disdain for the stupidity of the posts. Should have stated it a different way.

I've sometimes wondered if we should care so much about the necro posting. Other than to let people know that past participants are not likely to be around or inclined to engage .. what really does it matter? When I first joined I think I posted to an old thread at least once before I understood the issue. While we can always start a new one on the same subject, if someone wants to respond to past points made and someone else wants to come along and engage perhaps we should just let walking zombies walk?

This is a joke, obviously... but I love a good rant, so here goes...

Many atheists, believing this life is a brief miracle, try to make the MOST out of it... Sure, there are lazy atheists and there are ambitious atheists, but your argument is comically unfounded.

If you had any statistical references in respect to the belief systems of those in the lower to middle class you would be aware that views are resoundingly theist.

According to a 2010 study in the United States, those of Christian affiliation were among the lowest income demographic.

See for yourself: http://magazine.good.is/infographics/tra...-religions

Also, I love a good joke, but don't make me choke on my lunch. I'm only going to get one life here.
