There are people who don't want to work to pay for your police force. If you want one then buy a bodyguard or two from a private firm. If your kids get shot in the street.... your own fault.

Do you know any unemployed doctors? I don't.

I don't live in the ghetto. No one shoots kids or anyone else in the street where I live. As a matter of fact I've never had to call the police for any reason in my life. Usually we sleep with the doors unlocked and the windows open where I live. People are too lazy to steal where I live. The are either holed up in their trailer making bathtub crank or out on a tractor on their farm. Those crankers only leave their trailer park to go buy more supplies.

I don't know any doctors right now except for the ones I visit. I had an ex that was a doctor and I know he had a hard time finding a job.

I think health should obviously be a given as previously stated. It should be free - people have a right to life, it's not always your fault when you can't afford to pay for your own health.

EvF

People have a right to life and doctors also have a right to be paid for their services. I could care less what happens to third world countries. If I lived in one then I'd care. They need to work out their own issues on their own. If those people can't get their heads straight and work out their kinks then whatever. It's not everone elses place to baby sit those people in third world countries. There are no other sides to this story. You have people who can't afford medical care and people who can and that's life. It's not fair to reward irresponsible behavior by giving people free things. They need to get a savings account to prepare for a rainy day. Cancer costs money. Most people even the rich people can't afford cancer treatments. Well....that's life. Crap happens and we can't go increasing taxes to pay for this stuff. If they increase taxes to pay for medical insurance then people can do all of the irresponsible things they want and they know they won't have to pay for it. Lung cancer, diabetes, heart disease, skin cancer, and asthma plagues my state. Just about everyone I know is fat and just about everyone I know over the age of fifty has a heart problem, is a diabetic or smokes. Some of those things can be prevented by exercising and taking care of yourself. The taxpayers of Kentucky should not be responsible for caring for an over weight person with a heart problem due to their obesity when they have no other medical condition that makes them fat and sick. A lot of the lazy people who already don't care about themselves will just say "Oh well...the government will pay for it so who cares I'll eat another bag of chips". A lot of you aren't from America. We are full of lazy fat people who will milk any system for all it's worth!!!

I assume you mean couldn't care less?

Anyway - that's sick. Work out their issues on their own? You think that people in third world countries can 'rise to the top' just as easy as anybody else? You think they don't have a right to healthcare when, um...they just can't afford it?

Not being able to afford medical care doesn't automatically=people having irresponsible behavior!

You think that when you have no money and can't afford healthcare, or anything for that matter...when you're in a third world country - you think that's a matter of choice and such people are just being irresponsible? An extremely naive and absurd view.

Let me ask you a quesiton,

Do you think if you're poor that automatically=lazy/irresponsible? Do you think, incredibility unrealistically - that everyone is in an equal position to work and bring money in...when obviously everyone is not all in an equal position?

You could be the hardest worker in the world but still have no fucking money and not be able to afford healthcare. You're attitude is absurd and extremely naive, and your view that you'd only care about third world countires if you actually lived there: is sick, isolated, and self-centred in your little bubble.

I understand it's just way you are and you have your own reasons, but that doesn't stop me completely disagreeing with your views on this matter.

You would be surprised at just how many ignorant people think this way...

RE: Uni Health Care
Most poor people made bad decisions. They more than likely never finished high school or only have a high school educaton. That's irresponsible. It's their choice to continue their education or not to continue their education. If they want to be able to be healthy and taken care of they should have thought about that before deciding to be poor.

America started from nothing. People who settled in America had to fight for what they got. People drove across country in wagons and if they were lucky they survived and made it to California. We fought our own wars on our own soil to be able to be the country we are today. This is my reason for not having a care about third world countries. They are human and humans have the ability to work things out and fix our bad situations. If America did it and all of the other developed countries did it....they can too. They need to get with the program.

I'm not an American business person. I do understand business. I have worked very hard to be able to have what I have today and I've done it by being smart about my finances and my money. I have more and am able to do more than my parents and most of my friends. I have achieved that by working hard and no one gave me anything. I have no credit cards and no debt other than a few thousand in student loans. I know people who have had to lose their homes due to irresponsible credit purchases. Some of those people made a lot of money too. Our problem with the lack of funds for health care, the housing crisis, the credit crisis, and other financial problems is due to irresponsible behavior by most Americans. Giving people handouts in a time like this isn't the right thing to do. We need to learn better ways of managing our money and living on our own...not on credit, not on loans, not on the government. Each American has to figure out how to be their own "business person" and get out there and fix our own situation. We have corporations that control supply and demand and we need to get back to local businesses providing goods to each community. People can't make a living on checking out goods at Wal Mart. Even managers make around thirty thousand a year. What is anyone going to buy on thirty grand a year?
