hello
My name is Katrina. I was raised christian and then confirmed catholic and married my husband in a catholic church last september. We just realized in october how ludicris religion is. We didn't just stop believing we just realized that we never really believed. We currently live with my parents, one of whom is going to chaplain school and both of whom are EXTREMELY religious. It would crush them if they knew i didn't believe. I'm 22 and recently married and trying to start a family. I'm worried about my husband and my parents trying to control how my child is raised forcing them to go to church and such. Anyway. I have a B.A. in management and i'm probably going back to get a masters in anthropology. Maybe. So that's me.

Hi and a warm welcome to our forum.

Interesting username you picked there. Is there a particular reason you chose Deodorant?

Personally, it's not God I dislike, it's his fan club I can't stand.

Welcome here deodorant.

Why should your husband want to force religion upon your child if he is not a believer? Or am I misunderstanding who you mean with "we" in "We just realized in october how ludicris religion is."?

RE: hello
Deo,

Welcome to the forums! I'm four weeks away from getting my BS in business management. I'm with Rabbit on this one. The first half looks like you AND your husband found not-god then you go on to say that you are worried about him and your parents controling your child. I am guessing that you are worried about your husband's relationship with your parents and your parents interaction with your child?

I've learned a lot from these forums and been introduced to concepts I've never heard of. I've also been shown new ways to look at things I figured I had sorted out.

PS Rabbit claims to have no religion but he worships his vacuum cleaner or at least thinks it is god.

Yeah silly PR. Everyone knows that you should only worship his noodlyness.

Well, You know what Aristotle said:
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

Of course I am not claiming to have an educated mind from this. For I have no degree in advanced theology at all, just astrophysics, but that of course is completely useless excess baggage in this universe.
