Religious fallout from the election

Eternally an optimist, I'm hoping this win for Obama means the country has figured out that the GOP is fucked and needs an overhaul. Especially with the number of rising irreligious or more socially liberal people in the country.

You are absolutely correct that the Republican party will have to change for the future. That's been the tendency of political parties for their existence. I do have a question for the people wishing for the death of the Republican party though, are you all really the champions of single party rule?

Interesting Idea about Mormons taking some or even a lot of the fallout. Honestly, good. I don't want more of them to "band together".

Now that I go back and reread this, actually I don't think it will necessarily make them go back to hating Mormons - if the fundies of all Christian sects believe that he's a heathen bastard, they're going to still say "better it were a Mormon than the guy we've got now" - at least until the next election.

And I have a feeling they'll be grasping for anything if the numbers of the religious keep dropping.
