Your Game of the year 2012?

By default as it is pretty much the only new game I've played this year, but I did thoroughly enjoy it.

That game was terrible. Not as bad as homecoming but it was pretty bad.

It's a love-hate thing, and there were certainly things I didn't like about it. I liked the story, though, and that's why I play Silent Hill games.

Eh, the story was decent, but in truth, when I compare Downpour to the first few games...it comes up terribly short. I play Silent Hill for a mix of things; the atmosphere, the character studies, the psychological aspects, and the story [of course]. The game lacked all but story. But given how Homecoming was...well, it was a step up. Still...they need to go back to the stuff like Silent Hill 2...where the character is detestable but still human and someone you can still relate to in some way at least as a human being.

It doesn't help that I saw Silent Hill: Revelations recently and it was like a microcosm of the game series; the previous titles are good, the new ones are shit. Granted there's only been two movies, but...

Oh my. I was about to say I've been enjoying playing some Omaha Hi Lo poker on line and some Chinese Giant Two with family. Does anyone still use playing cards these days? Graphics aren't so great I have to admit.

Well, I was hoping The Last Guardian from Team Ico would be out by now. That highly anticipated game appears to be getting forever delayed and I'm starting to feel its going to turn out like Duke Nukem Forever's development history did.

Amnesia Machine for Pigs has also been pushed to Early 2013.

The Mario games have sadly sucked this year... Nintendo seems to be milking the cash cow rather than feeding it new ideas. So far, 2012 has been disappointing.

Well, before I reached the end of it, it was going to be Mass Effect 3.

I'd have said the same, but as you say, the ending is just a kick in the teeth as far as I'm concerned.

Haven't played AC3 yet (I still need to catch up with the series, they seem to have released loads of AC games lately) but I'm sure that's good. And I'll reserve judgement on COD when I get it for xmas

Besides that what other games are really game of the year material? I can't really think of any.

Halo4 the story and graphics were light years beyond anything else I've played this year.

Dishonored looks interesting though and is quite cheap now.
