iTunes 11
I don't know if anyone here cares, but Apple released iTunes 11 today. It's a month late.

I think it's a good improvement.

If any here have tried it, what do you think?

One interesting thing I noticed was that application color changes to match the colors of the album as you can see below:

Damnit... now it's going to bug me to download the new version until I'm forced to... Never opening my iTunes again.

Don't worry, I won't make it past the weekend... I gotta have my tunes to listen to. But seriously, Apple releases too much everything, updates, products. The new iPhone. The new iPad and they're coming out with the mini-iPad, which isn't it really just a big iTouch? All the f-ing iPod generations... I love the products, but the consumerism of it all... It's so icky. Damn the Man. /endrant

iTunes is teh suck. Of course, pretty much every other similar app I've used on Windows sucks about as bad. Big Grin I'm guessing the experience on OSX is different.

Frankly, all I use it for is syncing the iPod nano that's connected to my car stereo on rare occasions when I want to change what's on it. If I ever get around to seeing how well a USB stick or Android phone works in it's place, the nano may be going buh bye, and iTunes with it.

iTunes works great on the Mac. I hear it's awful on Windows. I'm not sure why exactly people would say that. Maybe because it's still the Mac UI on Windows.

There's still a lot about iTunes that seems really dated. It's the only application on OSX that still uses modal preferences window. Album artwork in album view still sputters trying to load the artwork. The information fields for tracks doesn't have separate fields for first middle and last names which can cause problems when browsing via artist or composer. When you open up the information window for a selected item(s) you can't continue to use the application until you close the information window. This is very inconsistent with the way info windows work in all other OSX applications. Applying changes to a large number of items brings up a progress window which prevents from using the application until the operation is finished which can sometimes be several minutes if you're say applying artwork to a few hundred tracks like I was after importing a 10 CD box set recently.

At this point (after so many fuck-ups regarding the program), I just don't care anymore....meaning it's kind of shit, but I won't made a deal about it like I did in the past.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

The only thing which really fucks me off with itunes is that it forces you to 'sync' your devices. When you transfer to a new computer and lose all the songs you had downloaded on itunes, you suddenly find that you can't add songs to your ipod anymore. Well, unless you want to 'sync' up and lose the 3,000 or so amazing songs that you currently listen to on your ipod.

There is (or was) a setting in iTunes to disable the sync behavior.

Even with that enabled, AFAIK, you cannot copy songs from your iPod/iPhone to your computer with iTunes, which is maddening.
