My Best Horsey
December 7, 2012 at 1:10 pm
(This post was last modified: December 7, 2012 at 1:13 pm by orogenicman.)
This is by no means ready to compete with the big boys, but it is my best Horsehead to date. It is cropped from a larger image I took back on February 12, 2012. The exposure totals only about 40 minutes. I plan to take much longer exposures very soon, hopefully next week, weather permitting.
Here is the full version of it:
'The difference between a Miracle and a Fact is exactly the difference between a mermaid and seal. It could not be expressed better.'
-- Samuel "Mark Twain" Clemens
"I think that in the discussion of natural problems we ought to begin not with the scriptures, but with experiments, demonstrations, and observations".
- Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)
"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! No sign of the planet Magrathea, which H2G2 fans know is in the Horsehead Nebula. Fake!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I like the full version better (not just because of quality). I hope you get to share many more of these with us.

I thought this would be a video of you dancing Gangnam style.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Not on a bet.
