And to add insult to injury, when I call up the site, there's that photo of the mom with her baby and underneath an advert telling me "And now a pizza". I wonder what everybody else gets, if it's equally in good taste.

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Police in suburban Pittsburgh say a man fired a rifle at his neighbor hanging Christmas lights and then held police at bay for several hours inside his home before he was arrested.

Now, I do wonder if I am the only one who sees an inherent problem here:

Police say they found spent rifle shell casings in Carter's home, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition and at least two dozen guns.

A 41-year-old man was left bloodied early Christmas morning after his spouse attacked and stabbed him with a ceramic squirrel for not bringing home beer, according to an incident report.

Watkins had been alerting other drivers to the checkpoint — which courts have upheld as constitutional but the libertarian activist describes as revenue-generating scheme — and shouting “You criminals!” at officers as they stopped drivers.

He later thanked officers for checking on his well-being after the crash, although he was ticketed for driving without a valid license.

“I don’t ask for permission to drive a car I paid for on a road I paid for,” Watkins said.

He posted on Facebook that he did not advocate drinking and driving, but he also said he didn’t believe there should be laws against drunken driving.

Watkins continued. “I’m lucky to be alive."

I'm falling down on the job. So fixated on intentional discharges of guns by cops I nearly missed the latest installment of 100 gun fuckups.

Accidentally shooting oneself still accounts for the most significant part of the GunFAIL incidents logged. This latest installment of 100 features 41 self-shootings. Likewise, child victims are also involved in a major chunk of our reports, with 20 such incidents involving kids from 15 months old through age 17. Seven of the kids were age 5 or younger. Eleven people were accidentally shot by their own family members, friends or significant others. Fifteen of our 100 incidents resulted in fatalities.

All the usual categories of failure are represented, as we've come to expect. Twelve law enforcement or security guard accidents, 11 "home invasion" shootings or shootings that otherwise penetrated walls, seven accidents with guns people said they didn't think were loaded, five target or range shooting accidents, five gun-cleaning accidents, five hunting accidents, four holster accidents, three firearms training accidents (including one instructor), two accidents while out and about shopping or dining among the public (one at a convenience store and one at a Sonic restaurant), and our third teacher to accidentally discharge a weapon in school this academic year.

CORNELIA, GA, 10/15/14: Habersham County authorities said a 25-year-old man died Thursday after he accidentally shot himself Wednesday night as he was playing with a .38 revolver. Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell said Eric Daniel apparently thought the weapon was not loaded. The incident happened around 6 PM at a residence on Locke Road in Cornelia. The sheriff said Daniel's wife and children, as well as his wife's sister, were in the house at the time. Terrell said no foul play is suspected, and the shooting was simply a tragic accident.
