When they didn't accept Jesus Christ as their personal lord and savior and begin living a spirit led life!
Seriously though I don't know why the Christians would want to argue that some man who had committed serious atrocities would be joining them in heaven. His behavior was probably a pretty darn good indication of where his heart was at!
When I lived in Sacramento there was a popular Christian church called "Warehouse Ministries". It was a church set up in a warehouse.
Anyway somebody in the church got the incredibly brilliant idea to start a sort of prison outreach program -- where young single women wrote to guys in prison to teach them about Jesus Christ. I could be wrong but I think that they were writing to guys in Folsom prison. My friends wifes best friend was involved in the program. She got together with the guy -- that she had been writing to -- after he got out of prison. And he raped and killed her... Which as I understand brought an end to the program. Gosh who could have seen something like that coming..
