10 Questions for Christians

I know there are some (a few minor) errors in the bible; but it is not sensible for me to throw it all out. The book is backed by inscriptions that record the same historical accounts especially of Isaiah, and the judges. When doing ancient history at school we reviewed inscriptions which had right down to the amount of tribute paid identical accounts of battles that took place. The bible is a history of encounters with God, and historical records of king and country, backed by secondary sources; it is not fairy tales. When the bible was assembled it was so by humans, so their is the potential for books or stories included to be wrong, but not all the stories or books are wrong the largest majority of the texts are acurate historical accounts. Why I am so careful, or evasive as you put it is to try not to make it look like the whole lot of it is rubish.

*Jason slaps his forehead*

Let me put this to you really simply as you seem to be having trouble understanding my point:

Have....you...read....the...Bible. All of it.

Thanks for that link Darwinian, I'm finding the information useful in stark contrast with B&H's link.

@FutureAndAHope:lol, its not a few minor errors...the bible is FULL of contradictions and just plain absurdity.

And it has a lot of violence and cruelty in it aswell.

There is no way you can convince me, I have seen too much. I know God exists because he has spoken to me and revealed the future before it has happened on 2 ocassions. I know Jesus is real. Biology can not tell me the future, neither can evolution. Only one that can control the future can predict it. See the story about the aboriginal man, under the post "I heard God".

ROFLMAO ... you believe because you want to believe so really all you have is wishful thinking ... nothing to do with logic or reason or anything ... you're just a believer, a believer without and in spite of the evidence.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

And it is highly Improbable that you can convince me that 'the argument from personal experience' is a strong one. Considering how powerful the mind is. And how susceptible to hallucination the mind is.

PS: Evolution can partly predict the future considering it has been going for millions of years it will almost certainly continue further into the future Big Grin...since there is no evidence God has EVER existed. Russel's Teapot.

1,2&6. Suffering is a part of this life. All the saints suffered for GODs name.
3. GOD wants us to be holy, like him. There is a narrow path for good men(Jews, in this case) to follow.
4. Science is verifiable and true.
Scripture cannot always be taken literally, but still contains divine truth. The earth is as old as science says. GOD created man and all seeming ancestors. The flood is a part of the story of salvation indicative of the end.
5. God is not supportive of slavery. The was the nature of man in that day. God did not try to overwhelm man by dictating everything at once.
7. Remember that most of Jesus's miracles were also done by his disciples. This was how the church spread.
8. God shows his face to the faithful.
I hold that 90% of the church does not believe the truth of Jesus's life in their life.
9. This is to indicate how GOD is in everything around us.
10. The true faithful, who swear before GOD, do NOT divorce.
The bible contains essential spiritual truths on how you may be saved.

3. FSM wants us to be noodley, like him. There is a narrow path for noodleyness (Pirates, in this case) to follow.

Recipes for bolognese sauce cannot always be taken literally, but still contains divine truth. The earth is as old as science says. His holy noodleyness created man and all seeming ancestors, as well as midgets - after all we are all his creation. The flood is a part of the story of salivation indicative of the digestive system preparing for his meaty goodness.
5. FSM is not supportive of midget slavery. This was the nature of man in that day. The Spaghetti monster did not try to overwhelm man by dictating everything at once.
7. Remember that most of Margaret Thatcher's miracles were also done by her disciples. This was how the Tuberculosis spread.
8. FSM shows his divine Noodle to the faithful.
I hold that 90% of the pirate population does not believe the truth of FSM's life in their life.
9. This is to indicate how FSM is in everything around us, the birds, the trees, the grass, and midgits - especially the midgits, for they are his chosen people.
10. The true faithful, who swear before the meaty sauciness of his holy noodley appendages, do NOT eat pasta with cream sauce.

1, 2, 6: Suffering IS part of this life. And people turn to religion to make em feel better.
3: Uhh? This sounds like Hitlerish stuff. "You dont believe in me. So I'll kill you now." Is this a loving god?
4: Wha? You have to follow everything literally. In that time, it was supposed to be taken literally, so why is it different now? Soon enough, the WHOLE Bible will be "not to be taken literally"
5: It WAS a huge proponent. The people who wrote the bible thought that it was okay, so, so did God.
7: Probably cheap magic tricks to fool people into believing them, or a complete fabrication as always. -_-
8: MOST.
FRICKING.
PATHETIC.
EXCUSE.
EVER.
Seriously, that just fails. The most faithful are the delusional idiots.
I had an abnormal experience at a Buddhist shrine, but its a touchy thing. I don't want to elaborate, but my school R.E. teacher said that it was satan trying to trick me.
LOL.
FAIL.
See, this doesnt prove Buddha, and a hallucination won't prove your god.
9: Uhhh... What the frick? seriously. Everything is made out of much more complicated crap. Carbon, oxygen, glucose...
10: FRICK! IS THIS SO HARD TO GET ACROSS TO YOU!
I BLOODY HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE USE THE "omg, not troo christians" BAILOUT. Fine then. Its just as bad a s saying Joseph Stalin wasn't a true atheist.
How can you prove this bullcrud anyway?
A lot of idiots divorce, and christians are NOT FRICKING IMMUNE.
Plus, atheists have a lower divorce rate then christians. And this is percentage, so no more excuses for you. >=(
