This week it is election time in Germany, in the horrible backwards east German state of Lower Saxony.
As it happens the current govenor is half Scotish, David Mc Allister.
He never faced a election and came into office after the previous govenor Christian Wulf had to leave office.

Now if he wins this election, he has a good chance of becoming German chancelor in his future career.

Funny thing is, if Germany where to reinterduce the monarchy not a single native German could apply for the throne.
The Hohenzoller line is dead, no one would want to live under a Bavarian monarch and the last Hannovarians are in Britain.

So a German monarch would be British, Swedish or Norwegian.
