Its not about sex and violence, it is just coincidence that everything here is sexual or violent, mostly because the holodeck would be used for things that could not normally be done. Violence in real life is risky, wheras in the holodeck you wouldnt die, just respawn. Sex is also common because people have a difficult time finding what they want sexually in real life.
