Ah finally, Cricket in Canberra where it belongs!

Ah finally, Cricket in Canberra where it belongs!
Well after I finally got to see the PM's XI this year (last week) at Manuka after waiting an extra year due to 2012 being rained out, and enjoying the new state-of-the-art flood-lights added and much needed to bring ODI's to Canberra. Of course I had to watch today's "Historic" game on the TV, the first time Australia has played at Manuka in an ODI (although Manuka has been used twice before for ODI's, but not for Australia unfortunately). The lights are there, partly, so all the idiot AFL fans can watch AFL under lights there, but more importantly so that I can enjoy future ODI's, at least that is my one great wish and hope for the future!

While the seating capacity isn't great and is in need of being increased, Manuka is one of the best Cricket grounds in Australia, and it's also one of the largest. Hopefully its potential can be realized in the future!

I leave you with the sizes by playing area of the presently-used Australian Test/ODI cricket fields:

WACA 149m long x 139m wide. 20711m2 *Smallest overall, and so small it can't host AFL!
SCG 156m long x 154m wide. 24024m2
Gabba 171m long x 150m wide. 25650m2
MCG 173m long x 148m wide. 25604m2 *Biggest sporting stadium in Australia. Biggest sporting stadium in the southern hemisphere.
Bellerive Oval 175m long x 136m wide. 23800m2
Adelaide Oval 190m long x 126m wide. 23940m2

Size of Manuka Oval:
179m long x 150m wide. 26850m2

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

So the worlds dullest game in Australia's most boring city.

Should be riveting.
