RE: Jewish Atheist
Welcome!

Sorry to dissapoint you but Albert Einstein never referred to himself as an atheist, He said that he did not think he could call himself a pantheist, which did not exclude him from being a theist.

No, but this did...

Quote:It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.

- Albert Einstein, letter to an atheist (1954), quoted in Albert Einstein: The Human Side, edited by Helen Dukas & Banesh Hoffman
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I was browsing through the threads last night, and I assume you're referring to banned poster known as "Nony mouse" or something like that.

I'm glad to see that kind of behavior moderated here. That guy is just a antisemitic cretin. It's one thing to legitimately critique a religion and its dogma. It's quite another to marginalize Jewish people by spamming the board with archaic antisemitic canards like Holocaust denial, Zionist conspiracies, etc.

Thank you all for the welcome. I'm glad to be here and look forward to our future discussions.

“Recognize that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules, are traceable to the crucibles that were once the centers of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. So that we are all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically and to the rest of the universe atomically. That’s kinda cool! That makes me smile and I actually feel quite large at the end of that. It’s not that we are better than the universe, we are part of the universe. We are in the universe and the universe is in us.”

Well, to be honest, he wasn't banned for that, as our free speech policy allows for anyone to express their views, no matter how retarded they may be deemed. He was banned for spamming, despite staff warnings, he kept on going so it was our only choice to take, a ban. I understant that he could offend your people with his drivel, but that alone won't be grounds for a ban here. We might not agree with the stupid things he said, he has the right to utter them, but not spam them ad nauseum Tongue

RE: Jewish Atheist
If Albert did not rule out God as it is with atheism , was not sure about pantheism, could be considered a deist, but did not reffer to himself as one, was obviously unaware of his scriptualy correct anti-religious beliefs, therefore did not want to be reffered to as a theist, as it is well known, he did not like the idea, the universe had a begining, {Genesis 1:1 John 1:1 } which his own conclusions deduced, which he then tried to refute and failed, which he then admitted to be his greatest foly, add to this he believed the Gospel of the Apostles concerning Jesus Christ, as he is quoted as saying "no myth is filled with such life" So if non-believers want to claim Albert as one of their own, then your place is all the way back at the end of a very long queue.

Why don't you create a thread about it, instead of hogging another persons intro thread?

Welcome starchild. I would've used a comma there but goodnews used them all up.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
