Hello I am new here. I am an ex christian and here are some of my beliefs
May 20, 2013 at 1:53 am
Hello all! I am from new York and I am an agnostic, very very close to atheism. Basically I will put it this way. If there was a god and he beamed down to earth, I would acknowledge he exists but I wouldn't worship him. Not after reading some of the worst passages in the bible. Sure there is a lot of good stuff, but it's with its bad stuff too. And I have tried learning science and religious science, about like young earth vs. old earth and what not and just to me, not that I understand everything because I am not a science professor, the big bang and the age of the universe being 4.5 something billion years old makes a hell of a lot more sense than the religious version of that. Everyone is entitled their opinion and I don't have a problem with that. And about me stopping being a Christian, well I officially was one, but in my mind, I never really believed. I just made empty prayers and thought some of the stuff they taught at church was just ridiculous. I still think religion should be looked at because it is fascinating. But looked at for it's history, not taken literally. I hope to get to know you all. Thank you for reading!

Hello and welcome to AF! ^_^
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK
"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

Well, there you have it: a picture I took of god beaming down to earth. Now you're screwed
Oh and..
.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You can say whatever the fuckin fuck you want here, just don't call a theist a fuckin asshole dickwad without being called something first (which surprisingly happens aLot so no worries).
You sure convert easy. That could be Mohammad for all you know

I have no problems with atheists, Christians, jews, muslims, whatevers. It's only when they call me ignorant and wrong for having opinions that I get angry. Everyone has difference of opinions. It's natural.

Well, prepare to get angry then. Don't let it get to you, I haven't met a single correct theist yet

I actually joined a Christian forum just for the purpose of understanding what they believe and what not and most are really tolerant. However you say anything against the bible and OHHHH SHITTTT
