Erm, You're the one who brought up gay rights and asked me if what I call the left did those things in the first place! arg! Also, you brought up these issues before explaining (asserting) how the size of government wasn't at all something that determined left/rightness, which, and I don't think I'm being unreasonable here, would lead any reader to assume that you meant these these issues that you mentioned were part of what made a party left/right, else why bring them up?
Edit: Also, I never said those issues were a part of it, all I did was answer your question, does (what I would call) the left do those things? Yes.
Try proposing any large cuts to government power, what would you get called? See what insults get hurled your way. I've yet to be called a 'leftist moonbat' that's for sure. It's an aspect of it is what I'm arguing, you'll note that I never said it was THE standard, and I don't much care for the baseless allegations regarding my motives.
Ok, I said the left/right spectrum encompasses (or attempts to encompass actually) multiple issues. You have said that Quote: No it does not
I am therefore very interested in hearing what one issue it is concerned with then.
Nemo me impune lacessit.

Our conservatives very certainly want everybody to think that the big/small government paradigm is one of the metrics which indicate whether you are left or right. Of course, they measure the size of government pretty much only by the amount it spends.

I brought up gay rights in context of the american right wing movements, not all conservative movements arround the globe. Gay rights has been an issue of the american left and opposing gay rights a issue of the american right. Social issues do matter in determening what a political organisation alligns to. These social issues are different from region to region.
Go figure.

I didnt say it isnt one, I said it was not the international standard on behalf of which the political possition of a organisation is determined - like did.

I hate to bring the news to you. Your feelings over how people you disagree with aswell as your expirences do not determine the standard which determines if a political organisation is right wing or left wing.
Quote: It's an aspect of it is what I'm arguing, you'll note that I never said it was THE standard, and I don't care for the baseless assertions about my motives.
You behaved as if is the standard, by calling the GOP leftwing on the basis that the build up "big goverment".
My assertion still stands, and it doesnt matter if you dont care.
You look upon the the entire political fiel of the globe from your liberterian ivory tower thinking that this gives you the possition to determine every single political organisations possition from the viewpoint of [sarcasm]unbiased and fair[/sarcasm] liberterianism.

If my dictonary is correct then encompass means - erfassen
In which case I have to ask you what you are actualy talking about?!!
Every political organisation attempts to incompass as many issues as possible. Which is not the point that determines a political organisaions alligance to eighter the left or the right is. That is determined by what possition an organisation takes on an issue, and the process of determening this also has to include thoughts over regional factors and not some weird global standard set up by some selfimportent person who believes his standard to be the only viable global standard.
One might aswell claim every organisation in the world to be right wing which denys equal rights for homosexuals - which would then also include the Russian communist party and the Indian national congress party.
Or one might aswell call all parties leftwing which support equal rights for gays, which would then include the British and Germand conservative parties.

Meanwhile, the dumbest of dumb cunts, Michelle Bachmann, has announced that she will not seek re-election. It would help except she is likely to be replaced by someone equally fucking stupid.

Let me guess, God told her not to run after praying about it.

I think the investigations into campaign irregularities told her not to do it.

The good Lord works in mysterious ways and has own way of telling people about His will.
Sometimes it comes in the form of the FBI joining into an ethics investigation into your 2012 campaign to run for president. Sweet Jesus, in his own subtle way, told her that it was time to hang it up and leave office gracefully.
I'm sure my fellow Tea Baggers will find someone equally full of the Holy Spirit to replace her.
What Min said.
