Capitalism: Is it Working?

RE: Capitalism: Is it Working?
Corporations should have influence in politics as interest groups. Not through buying parlarment but through bringing forward their concerns.

Demanding inferstructure projects to create better grounds for market interactions (roads, rails, waterways, housingprojects)
Demanding taxcuts for social investments such as in nurseries, hospitals or schools.
demanding taxcuts for special economic interest zones.
they should have influence in foreign policie concerning trade agreements.

the list of concerns possible for a company with goverments is endless.

I simply think it is wrong to buy yourself a law from parlament (like in the US) or from the head of goverment (like in the UK and France).
total transparicy concerning interactions between goverment and cooperations would be capable of doing away with the kind of corruption which some morons gave the nice sounding name "lobbying".
Best example of how something like this can work is Denmark.

My question to you is: do you think capitalism is the best and most beneficial form of economic system? Does capitalism help, in itself, solve our economic problems? It has many pros and cons. It's a very volatile system. It can be downright unpredictable.

does capitalism solve "our" economic problems absolutely not...capitalism is merely an exploitative system that allows those in power too control the masses....... the word in it of itself was created by Karl Marx as an insult.......communism will take hold eventually because capitalism is unsustainable.....it is not a question of if merely when..... the problem is when the "work" becomes more challenging it requires a higher level of education too complete..... the problem therein is that the worker must become more educated....and therefore made more aware of the exploitative practices of the capitalist...... the lower middle class however is not a proper example of the proletariat for they themselves only desire communism for their own financial gain.....therefore they are just as reactionary as the bourgeoisie..... capitalism and nationalism will fall........ as well as religion will fall..... the main challenge with "promoting" communism however is the theory is........ in it of itsef atheistic......... and therefore even the poorest of citizens cannot except it............ based on the concept that they tend too be very religous themselves........ capitalsim however is merely a stepping stone to communism.... it creates numerous international agreements .... the most prominent of which being an international language and an international currency..... however with current state of global and economic affairs.....the capitalist governments tend too further progress communism far more than any socialist movement ever could............. by simply awakening the proletariat to the exploitative practice of their own capitalist government

To paraphrase Winston Churchill:

Capitalism is the worst form of economics ...except for all the others.

I believe in capitalism balanced with strong unions and government regulations.

I picked this up off another board.

Quote:When the beneficiaries [of taxpayer's monies] are the poor (broadly conceived) the [wealthy] call it food stamps, handouts, fostering dependence, and welfare. When the beneficiaries have power, the same net effect gets called market support, incentives, tax credits, and enabling job creation. – Ryan Pavlik

Pure capitalism doesn't work well. It completely fucks up the poor and leaves them little opportunity to better themselves, or even live very long. I think there is a healthy middle ground between Capitalism and Socialism.

Yeah, I don't understand when people seem to think it is one or the other. I always love a good pick 'n' mix!

Yes. And the upper 1% is doing their best to stamp it out.

That was always the case. In the medieval times, they were called the aristocrats, doing the same.
