Wife finally spent some "quality time" with me after a really long, fucked up week for both of us where we just couldn't seem to connect. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER.

It's like a whole new world...

I'm feeling a bit better today. My Grandad is still in hospital, but that's good because it means he's beibg looked after so I don't have to worry the whole time I'm not there (which leads to me abusing the shit out of painkillers, which will be bad if I have a D&A test at work). I just have to worry about what to do if they send him home again when he isn't ready. I can't be there all the time, I have a full time job, and I can't afford to pay for carers, because they charge extortionate amounts of money around here. £20 an hour is the cheapest I can find. It's madness. :-(

I'm rather crampy. I just couldn't stay away from a Mexican restaurant for lunch that has messed me up in the past. Stupid quesadilla and soft chicken taco.

Reminds me of the other evening. Shell and I had spent the day exploring a local nature reserve and bakin in the sun. On the way back, we stopped off at a pub for a drink and a curry. I had a scorching hot chicken find a loo - sorry, vindaloo, and Shell ordered garlic chicken. She can't stomach anything too spicy so she asked for hers to be as mild as they could make it. In the event, her food was if anything hotter than mine, and bore as much resemblance to garlic chicken as I do.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I'm OK. Pretty much past the cramps, but I feel like I'm consuming a lot of food. But then, breakfast was early. Steak, peanut butter toast, and melon. I just had a smallplate of wheat thins and m&m cookies.

Things are looking up. After 19 days in the hospital, Dad is looking and feeling better, his vitals are stronger, and he's looking less like a lab experiment gone wrong every day. After lunch, he got up and walked a little bit (to the door and back).

Looks like he's going to make it after all.

Awesome news Cthulhu

My mum managed to string a few words together today. Only back to dementia babble but that's way better than nothing anywhere near to coherent. She's looking bruised and incredibly frail. More so than I've ever seen her. She can't move and I gave her a drink. My boy came with me too.. he seems to be able to connect with her better than anyone. She smiled.

You're breaking my heart, man. Seriously.

You gotta stop mentioning this or I won't even be able to bring myself to respond to you when you say something stupid about religion on the forum.
