If you believe in the God of the Bible, why try to prove it logically?

So, when the preacher up the road says that something is fine, but the one on tv says that same action will send me to hell, that's not an important thing to want cleared up? The homophobic preachers and the ones who accept everyone, the thing they disagree on- the souls of an entire class of people- isn't important?

I guess this is really the only thing you can do; you can't honestly say that you all agree on the same stuff, so you just have to push the stuff you all don't agree on to one side.

Homophobia isn't biblically justifiable. Bigots are Bigots no matter what else they profess.
Evil stuff gets you hell.
Show me a doctrinal difference you care about where you think gods justice is practiced differently and we can start to discuss something.

It is according to Leviticus. And despite your claims of this being self evident, some people do still believe Leviticus to reflect the will of god. How do you know it doesn't?

And those people certainly think homosexuality is evil.

I just did. But I can keep going: there are christians in other countries that burn folk as witches. That kill or imprison gay people. All sorts of things, and all under the banner of god.

And yet, again, you just shrug all this off as unimportant.

I shrug them off as the desperate attempts of a biased person.

Sure evil people burn witches, are homophobic, racist, sexist, ageist, you name it. That supports Christianity, it doesn't go against it.

I don't even know of any fundy idiot literalists who believe that. I know plenty atheists who make that claim. Wot a larf.

That must be so much easier than actually thinking.

How?

But that's beside the point, and in fact is a separate discussion. You claimed that all you christians basically believe the same things, at base. My return claim is that the eternal souls of entire classes of people are not small things to disagree over. Your answer to this is to repeat your initial claim, over and over.

Whee.

And we end of an argument from ignorance. Outstanding.

Still very much a common practice in sub-Saharan Africa.

Don't come out as gay in Uganda or you're going to have a bad time.

Just more evidence that drich has no idea what love actually is.

Trueness
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Baseless assertions, ad hominem attacks and arguments from ignorance aren't points. Sorry that being reminded of that makes you uncomfortable.

When you can provide reason, I can address it. So far you do not. I can't help finding your points incredulous if you won't support them.

We're going around in circles, and obfuscation makes it look like you might have a point.
