Push me over the edge ! (Deconversion!)

RE: Push me over the edge ! (Deconversion!)
I don't think someone can just go from "I believe in God to I don't believe in him". Once you leave deism behind (because that's who you probably qualify as) you will most likely become agnostic (maybe there is a God, maybe there isn't) rather than atheist. I recommend watching Atheist Experience and debates between atheists and theists. My advice to you would be to take time. It'll probably take you a few years to consider yourself an atheist.

Most of us are agnostics in that sense. We accept that we can't know for sure there's no God, so we're agnostic. We don't hold a belief that any God exists, so we're atheists. He's already a deist or agnostic theist...and that's close enough that I'm not particularly perturbed by the idea of that not changing, as long as he doesn't back-pedal into Pentacostalism or Salafism or something like that.

I agree with you but for some this "I don't believe in God" is still too much so they prefer to transit from "there is a God creator who doesn't intervene" to "maybe there is a God, maybe there isn't".

You wouldn't ask us to do this unless you wanted to become an atheist already. The power is in yourself.

What did it for me was looking for actual, factual evidence for supernatural claims, whether for claims of religion or simple woo.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

One of the things that helped tip me over the edge from "I really really want to cling to my belief, even though it makes no sense" to "okay, so I don't believe it" was Julia Sweeney's monologue, Letting Go of God. It's really touching, heartfelt, and relatable.
