Fucking Cops

Min, have you ever considered doing a dedicated blog about this? It would get a lot more exposure than a thread in a niche forum like this.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

So, that video was on the Today show, and in their own defense, the cops were quoted as saying that he was throwing rocks and resisted arrest. Good reason to shoot a man trying to surrender, IMO.
Supposedly, the FBI is investigating, but the realist in me knows that the chance of seeing any kind of justice for this flat-out execution is minimal.

I don't know if that guy was surrendering or turning around to throw another rock at the police but it certainly did not warrent shooting him to death. He was throwing rocks at them, they aren't particularly leathal weapons are they. You might hear some argue that they we're afraid he had another weapon on him like a gun and was about to use it as he turned around but seriously just think about it, if he had a gun, he would have used that first instead of throwning rocks at them.

He was throwing his hands in the air and trying to run away. He has his hands in the air as he stops running when he sees he's going to be caught. It's hard to argue he was doing anything but surrendering. And if that's justification to shoot someone becuase they might have a gun, we're all fucked.

Initially yes he has his hands in the air, he then for some reason runs away. In that situation you do one or the other, not both. And when he stops and turns his hands are definitely not in the air.

The video is at the bottom of the page. It's difficult to watch. This cop slams this guy to the ground for no fucking reason. It makes me sick at my stomach. People apparently had called police and reported a suspicious person. Of course, he wasn't suspicious; he was brown.
