Is calling someone judgemental judgemental?

Is calling someone judgemental judgemental?
I've always been bothered, with those that call others judgemental. You can not logically criticize someone for being judgemental, since that in effect is a judgement and generalisation of someone else's personality. This is a fail of logic on the most basic level.

It's like someone saying "You should not use English", well then you have failed your own objective, so why should I listen to you?

The only reason why people have a problem with judgement, is not from any genuine reasoned argument, but just that they don't like what you are saying, so they will try to shut you up by ... judging you negatively!

Personally I love my sense of judgement, it separates my friends from enemies very quickly.

Discuss.

Why are you being judgmental of those who are judgmental of others?

Because I am judgemental, I do not claim to not be judgemental.

Being judgmental, or intolerant, is typically but not always a negative thing. Just like religious faith being unjustifiable doesn't mean that all expressions of faith are unjustified. I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow, faith based on solid evidence.

This is like people who say "I'm intolerant only of intolerance." However, there are degrees to it. If someone says, "That kid is a little piece of shit because he said ain't in a sentence, instead of the grammatically correct aren't," then identifying that person as judgmental isn't really an act of hypocrisy: it's not an arbitration, but an awareness of the kind of behavior that most people would refer to as judgmental.

We as humans do judge. It's all about finding that line where you judge too much. Or maybe in an unproductive way.

When does it become unproductive or too much?

I think we all answer that a bit differently. When I have more time, I'll requote your post and share where my line might be.

When does it become unproductive or too much?

When you're assigning values to someone that is not immediately apparent.

In other words, if I say A, and you think i'm a bad person because A is a very bad thing to say, then you're ok. If I say A, and you think i must think B, C, D, E, F, and therefore am a bad person, then you're unproductively judgmental, because you judged too soon, now you won't know what I really think, or if i'm really a bad person.

If you don't judge someone for something you've assumed about them, it's generally alright.
