Recommendations ?

Being a newbie here I'm dead ignorant on the ways of you Atheists.
I've looked at the help section (no, not to find God!!!!) but nothing there.
I'm trying to find what the recommendations are for and who dishes them out?
Does God hand them down from above?

I seem to have collected 2 and wonder what it's all about.

No other forum I am on or ever been on has this recommendation lark so can someone
put me in the picture please?
Pity one cannot see where this forum's writers come from in the letters...
......they all look to be mostly bleedin' yanks to me so far.

Maybe I'll get a recommendation soon to go to heaven.

There's a lilttle thumbs up icon at the bottom right of every post Albert... click it to recommend a post. Simples!

Sure thing. Underneath every post, you'll see some buttons like "Reply", "Report", etc. There is one that looks like this:



If you click that, you give the post a recommendation. Clicking it again will take the recommendation away. The idea is to give recommendations to posts that you think are well thought out, or funny, or just deserving of a recommendation.

Our "Top Members" sections ranks users using an algorithm for determining who has the most recommended posts, and it only takes into account posts that have more than one recommendation (so if myself and Darwinian both give a recommendation to the same post, it will count towards the top members section. If only myself gives a recommendation, it won't. This is to keep people from abusing the recommendation system.

Thanks guys for sorting me out.
Ain't being an Atheist complicated these days?
Recommendations, reports, hall of shame (bet I get in there soon knowing my luck).
Then the buddy list, top members....
.....who are the bottom members or is that sexually incorrect to ask?
