RE: moon landing hoax?
so,what does it take to get to yet moon?
A rocket that can escape earth's gravity... do they believe in sat nav?
Once you're out of earth's gravity well, it's just a matter of keep going, landing, and coming back... is it that hard to accept that possibility?

I've found that the belief patterns of conspiracy theorists and theists are very similar. The very basic of it is that you begin with a conclusion, and then find anything you can to support that conclusion, and ignore all evidence to the contrary.

Seems to me it would be more complicated to fake it all the times people went to the moon than to just actually send people to the fucking moon.

That may be a touch on the harsh side. Although I must admit that if you have repeatedly refuted her arguments with evidence and she still refuses to accept it, then there is a problem.

I'd recommend showing her the Joe Rogan podcast with Neil deGrasse Tyson where he explains why the landing isn't a fake. It's quite interesting, and a nice long interview for Tyson fans.

Even more complex would be keeping that many conspirators quiet for oh, 44 years? Govt. employees, military personnel, engineers, modelers, cinematographers, curious townsfolk, neighbors, family members....holy crow. One drunken sleeptalker or last will with a conscience clearing clause and it's out.

Complexity isn't an issue for conspiracy theorists. It only speaks to the power of the conspirator.

My grandfather didn't believe we had been to the moon either, but he was born in the 19th century, had a genuine Jethro Bodine 6th grade education, and could count the times he had been out of the southern Appalachian mountains on his fingers. What's her excuse?

And the strange thing is that conspiracy theorists believe that we never went to the moon, but believe that Obama secretly teleported to Mars.

Who believes that?
