I am several years older...maybe I won't live that long. I have given this some thought.
From my relatively short stint as a stay at home dad, I've learned a new and deep appreciation for women and stay at home partners in general...having been raised by women to appreciate this in the first place. "Find your own fucking sandwiches" is, to my mind, a gender neutral rallying cry that the world has desperately needed for some time.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I recall a time when my five brothers and I were all still at home, ranging in age from early teens to early 20s (sis hadn't yet made her appearance). Mum was hospitalized with a broken foot, and Da announced that until she was well, we'd be having 'breakfast jump up'. When asked what that was, he said, 'It's when you lazy lot jump yer arses up and make your OWN damned breakfast.'

Husband, being a southern country guy, spent a lot of time trying to make me into the 'perfect' housewife. Didn't seem to matter that I worked full time too and had all the kid duties because of his second shift job. I went along with it for a while to keep the peace. The kids are grown and gone...I put up with less shit from everyone. My take is that I spent years and years and years doing all the grocery shopping and cooking as well as being in charge of laundry and such and I have done my damn time.
You have clothes that need to be washed - there's the washer...have at it. You are hungry? You know how to cook, I've seen you do it. He flatly refuses to learn how to run the 'new' dishwasher...that's about 5 years old.
He mentioned something the other day that we were out of and I said he could actually enter a store and buy said thing. He said that was my job. The withering look he got sent him into the multi-day vacuuming spree.

Doing a metric shit ton of laundry.
Three dog baths seem to mess up a lot of towels as well as needing to replace the dog quilts on the couch since Zig thinks rolling around on them was the best way to get dry (we call it couch swimming).
Waiting for the young lady to come by and clip nails. I will do the other grooming duties but gladly pay her to tend to the nails since I don't happen to have the eight arms necessary to attempt it myself.

Weekend off work, so hours upon hours of gaming.

Yeah, that reminds me of a time in my 20's when I had this funny little personal revelation, namely that it wasn't my fucking job to keep people happy and that I was no longer going to lift a finger to help anyone unless circumstances were dire. Now that I have my own place, I don't even need to clean the house if I don't want to, I wait until I really feel like it, ya know?

Okay, so you are a slob and are happy with that.
Husband and I both live in this house. We both are capable and should be keeping things clean and chores done.
Here's something you probably aren't aware of - Happy wife, happy life.

Have you tried the peanut butter on your forehead trick?

Ummm....no. And I don't intend to.
Got husband to hold the dogs today while the young lady clipped the nails and that worked well.
Harley turns nearly inside out...she is like trying to hold onto a greased pig. There are times that I think she is calming down a little...nail clipping is not one of those times.
