Lasted about a quarter of the show before the rain became too much. Shame, because, before I left (during "Another One Rides The Bus"), it was actually a good show.

You want him whacked?
Good lord, NO. He's one of those things - like a road accident - that you can't look away from. We're thinking of starting a pool to pick the date when he has an accident with those hedge clippers.

From my experiences online, and limited encounters IRL, I've come to the conclusion that there are two types of Texans...
The truly decent type like awty and others I've encountered, especially on Twitter...
...and full-time fuckwits with big hats to hide their empty heads, a gun fetish that would make Freud blush and work overtime, and an arrogance that makes you wish that einsatzgruppen were still a thing.
There appears to be no middle ground.

As a transplant to TX, can confirm.
Thump is native to TX and is the decent sort.

A PS. When we moved to N. Texas in 2006 and I started traveling around looking for work and working contract jobs, there were two things I remember clearly being surprised by. First, Texans love donuts. There seemed to be a donut shop in every strip mall in the bigger 'burbs and one on every other corner in the smaller towns. It became a source of amusement for us. Once I was in offices on the regular, I had never in my life seen so much big hair and cleavage. Good lord. It was that noticeable. Cowboy hats less so but I sure saw my fair share of cowboy/girl boots.
One other thing...we were in a small town (it's grown at a rapid rate in the years we have been here so not so small any more) but the one high school in town had a football stadium that would have rivaled a college stadium in other parts of the country. My son, who played football in high school, was stunned. Friday Night Lights is a thing in Texas.
I have recently noticed that the TRUMP flags are disappearing. For a while I started to think that was the official outdoor decoration along with a Texas star mounted on the wall of the houses and lots and lots of crosses, there could never be one cross but always a cluster of them.

I am finishing up the first quilt that I have made to order. Grandson wanted one with a theme of hunting and fishing. I managed to find some fabric and added some camouflage to make it as redneck as I could. He told me when I was in SC that he had outgrown the one I made him with firetrucks, police cars, and other first responder themes. It will be for his 14th birthday.
For fun, I made the dogs some new quilts out of tie dye themed fabric.

I like to watch sitcoms while I work on my art. I've been watching Hot in Cleveland, Final Space and Brooklyn 99.

Just gave Quinn a Trazadone in the hope that it kicks in before the town fireworks show starts.
Since people ignore the fact that personal fireworks are illegal in town, I assume Quinn will be drugged through the weekend.

We're doing likewise with our dogs. Unlawful fireworks have yet to be detonated in our area. The police have promised to prosecute any offenders. The noise isn't just bad for us and our pets, but for the local wildlife, as well. Not to mention the pollution.
