What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
I'm having some dinner. Trader Joe's has great stuff that's very easy to make. Afterword I'm going to play Ori and the Blind Forest unless my cat gets needy.

Since people ignore the fact that personal fireworks are illegal in town, I assume Quinn will be drugged through the weekend.

We're doing likewise with our dogs. Unlawful fireworks have yet to be detonated in our area. The police have promised to prosecute any offenders. The noise isn't just bad for us and our pets, but for the local wildlife, as well. Not to mention the pollution.

Zig's about deaf but fireworks have never bothered him anyway.  Harley isn't all that concerned either.  Quinn nearly comes out of his fur.  He's currently passed out but the noise hasn't started yet.

I have never been to Trader Joe's.  Tell me what they have that's good that takes little effort.  Not a fan of cooking...so the easier the better.

Had to go to Jewel because of a bacon recall. Dad got a message saying that some bacon we got was positive for “Listeria monocytogenes” and we had to return them for a refund. Good news: the bacon was not actually affected by the recall because the sell by date is too far in the future. Bad news: by the time we figured this out, it had been out so long that it could never be safe to eat again. So we got the refund anyway.

Pining for the fjords.

No, seriously. I'm working on booking the Nordic portion of our September trip to Europe.

Meanwhile, I'm stuck in the USA for reasons and my wife and dogs are in Mexico.

They do give a lovely baroque feel to a continent.

Good luck on getting out of the US.

I like to get packets of rice, which you can microwave for three minutes, then mix them with teriyaki chicken and some broccoli. Sometimes I'll get chicken tikka masala and mix it with palak paneer. They have things like beef sirloin roast, bbq pulled pork and peeled shrimp that are already cooked. All these can be done in the microwave in under 10 minutes.

There are several things that take about 18 minutes to bake like orange chicken, salmon fillets, and stew or hamburger beef, which I also mix with rice. They have really good quality meats.

Prepacked salads, fruits, blends of juice like strawberry orange banana, trout or salmon, take no cooking at all.

Their desserts are really good too.

Received an ad for getting money back on what I pay for Medicare.

At the bottom of the page it said to click on the link to apple now.

S'pose that's some sort of scam?

They should really try harder.  I'll apple it later.  sigh
