I'm changing my official doctors' surgery I'm signed up with, right, and I need to give them my NHS number as part of my details I give them. I didn't know my NHS number, so I had to call my old/current doctors to get it.
"Oh no, we don't give out NHS numbers over the phone. You need to come into the surgery" And that's exactly part of the reason why I'm moving to a new doctors, well that and the ridiculous waiting times for an appointment at the current one (over a month). I'm sick of their bullshit. Anyway after insisting I still got it over the phone. Bye fuckers, won't be coming back. Like seriously, you think I'm gonna call up just to steal someone's NHS number, and I can give my details over the phone if you want ID verification. Uptight for no reason.

The problem in my area is that they built a huge new council estate not far from us (full of mostly British people, not immigrants) and the people from this new estate have basically flooded into this surgery I've been going to for years. With the NHS cuts though, the surgery hasn't been able to hire any new doctors, and they're absolutely drowning under the sheer amount of patients they have now.
They were never fantastically competent though. They've always had stupid receptionists who act more like they're guarding some CIA Fort Knox classified information. Getting through them to access your own info or speak to an actual doctor is a ball ache. They take the piss. You literally have to be a complete asshole with them and argue with them to get anywhere. I mean, I can be that bitch if you drag it out of me, but I don't like to be. Like I could have actually gone down there today to collect my NHS number from them like she tried to get to me over the phone, but girl bye, you might get a pushover with that but I'm not that dumb henny. Give me it over the phone like anyone who can think for themselves would.

Relearning all the difficult things i should have learned in High School through Khan Academy. I'll be taking the "metric for adults" course at Brainline at the end of the year (which will last 2 years). Hopefully i can start college or something afterwards so i can start learning IT, thinking of going the software engineer/programmer route since there should always be a need for new programs and platforms as technology progresses.
I'm pretty much stuck on Signs of expressions atm, i wish i actually payed attention in class when i was in primary school.
O.o Metric for adults?!
The metric system? errr.... 1meter can be split up into smaller divisions that follow a standard rule 0.1m = 1dm (decimeter) = 10^-1 0.01m = 1 cm (centimeter) = 10^-2 0.001m = 1mm (millimeter) = 10^-3 then they skip, because no one cares for these in the middle 0.000001m = 1um (micrometer) = 10^-6 0.000000001m = 1nm (nanometer) = 10^-9 0.0000000001m = 1A (Angstrom) = 10^-10 0.000000000001m = 1pm (picometer) = 10^-12 who cares about the others? Going the other way, the first 3 also get special names 10m = 1 decameter = 10^1 100m = 1 hectometer = 10^2 1000m = 1kilometer = 10^3 1000000m = 1 gigameter = 10^6 1000000000m = 1 terameter = 10^-9 (no one uses this, do they?) That's it.... apply the same rule replacing "meter" for the basic unit you desire, like gram, or degree Celsius, or liter... Speaking of liter... 1L = 1dm^3 Which brings us to areas and volumes. 1m^2 = 1m x 1m (as with any other unit, huh?) 1m^2 = 100 dm^2, or 0.01m^2 = 1dm^2 1m^3 = 1m x 1m x 1m (as with any other unit, obviously) 1m^3 = 1000dm^3, or 0.001m^3 = 1dm^3 -> this means that a cube with 1m sides can hold 1000L of something... think beer! Your stomach can hold about 2L of food+liquid.... so... 1000L is quite a lot.
I don't think that's the course, poca.
I think the 'metric,' in this case, is more along the lines of 'rubric.'
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
