Getting some work done. Was doing that at 4 this morning due to insomnia. Was able to sleep a couple hours though.

Meeting an old friend and neighbor at 1:30. Looking forward to seeing her.

I slept in until 8:30. The nurse who is subbing for Sarah rescheduled and so I don't have that to do today. I got all the recertification steps for my food stamps and housing assistance completed yesterday, so there's that. So I'm not feeling particularly obliged to do anything productive today. I may run to Walmart and do some shopping, as that always cheers me up. I could use it after reading the idiots in conservative media's take on the days events.

The bookshelf that I ordered arrived a day early. Seeing as I don't have to wait around for it to be delivered tomorrow, I think I'll make a trip to the Eagan Walmart after my nurse appointment tomorrow. It's twice as far by bus than the Bloomington Walmart, but it's a much bigger store and so they stock a lot more items than the one in Bloomington or Roseville. Not something I'll do every time I need to go to Wally World, but it's a nice option to entertain every once in a while.

Getting used to the new Windows install on my laptop, and, by an extraordinary coincidence, the last of the patches I ordered finally came today (Hereditary, Nobody, and Neon Genesis Evangelion).

Putting on some rice for dinner. The weather tomorrow could be spotty, so I'll delay going to Walmart. I need to go to Robbinsdale for something. Tomorrow sounds like a good day for that.

Have most everything packed other than some jeans that are currently in the dryer.  They'll be ready soon.  Some stuff in the car already.  In the morning I will finish gathering toiletries and load my laptop up and get a cooler ready and then hitting the road.

Groomed the other two dogs today so everyone has their summer fade for the upcoming heat.

Looks like a lot of my drive will be in the rain.  Not real happy about that.  Plan is to stop for the night in Alabama and get a good night's sleep, hopefully.  Then up Tuesday morning and on to South Carolina.

Drive safe, ma'am. Those storms on I-10 can be a bitch.

Yeah, I was thinking of a recent trip I took, a Gulf Coast museum tour to visit military spots. On the way back home, on I-10 between Baton Rouge and Lake Charles, I got caught in a storm so fierce that I decided to bail off the Interstate ... only to find that that exit ramp was itself flooded and I had to do rapid redress to get back on the highway to avoid flooding my car.
