You have to pick who is going to beat the spread and/or whether the combined scored will be over or under the over/under - and be right often enough to beat the vig (bookie's commission). ...which is substantially more difficult.

Thursday: Chargers@Broncos Sunday: Redskins@Falcons - only because they're playing the 'Skins. Sorry, Brian. Bears@Browns - Factory of Sadness FTW... err... FTL! Texans@Colts - One of ESPN's analysts actually picked Houston to win. I suspect he's an idiot. Bills@Jaguars - Jacksonville: No longer an automatic pick. Patriots@Dolphins - Yeah, Miami is on a bit of a heater, and winning in the snow against Pittsburgh was impres... wait, no it wasn't - though it was entertaining. Wake me up when you beat someone good that isn't Cincinnati. Eagles@Vikings - I'm almost tempted to pick the Vikings because there won't be 8 inches of snow inside the Metrodome. Almost. Seahawks@Giants - as bad as the Giants are, I am not expecting a blowout. 49ers@Buccaneers Jets@Panthers Chiefs@Raiders Packers@Cowboys Saints@Rams - Which Rams team will show up to play? I don't think it will matter. Cardinals]@Titans Bengals@Steelers Monday: Ravens@Lions It's not very often that I would pick 9 out of 16 to win on the road and feel pretty good about it. 
I'd feel lucky if the Redskins could even pick their noses.
