RE: Saying goodbye to Pepper
Its almost time to go to the vet. I can't stop crying. We're going to stop for a cheeseburger on the way.

I feel so sick.

I have a dog, You have a dog. Dogs want to die for us. What better way for a dog to die than at your hands? It is not murder, it is not killing. You are helping her. You are helping her die in a dignified way that could only leave her at ease, before and after the moment.

I'd skip the cheeseburger if you feel sick. /wry humor?

Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word

Condolences, CD. It's always hard, but I'm sure she's happy to have had a friend like you. You did the right thing.

Sorry I know how hard it is to let your greatest friend go. Be strong, better days are ahead, and I bet you will find another real friend as soon as you're ready.

Not to invade on your time to speak your mind but I'm right there with you. I put my 17 year old spaniel down yesterday. I put it off for so long cause I felt like it wasn't a decision I should make, but now she's not in pain anymore and I realize it was for the best. Condolences to you.

Sorry to hear that, many dog lovers here, we all hurt when one of us face those sad days. But like you said it's best for them, good friends that they are we should not let them suffer. Better days ahead, an a new friend sooner than you might think.

Well because of this thread my dog is now bewildered as to why I am making such a fuss over her. Extra bones, fried liver and a new chew toy.

I can see her thinking - "Christmas already? Is it my birthday? His Birthday? WTF?"
