Like what? I've been on this site what almost a year and a half now, you've been around a long time yourself. The admins as you well know don't single out people to ban merely because they are Christian otherwise you wouldn't be here.

Don't pull your "poor me" crap here.

You have no evidence, but that's okay as evidence means nothing to you.

People like to form into groups with shared beliefs and ideals (like atheists have done) so you can't prevent that.

Uggg, I am catching the same crap from other atheists about this.

DUH, and it is not my goal to end religion. But just like a gun, you don't let others think it is a toy or leave anywhere and ignore it.

It is a poison, IN OUR ENTIRE evolutionary history. It is a flaw that far to often sets humans up to make groups centered around falsehoods, and those people in turn bleed their placebos into politics and that creates human division.

Just like Volcanos may make land and provide nutrients but if you ignore them it can be too late.

I agree people will form groups, but that does not mean it is good or right even if it is good for that particular group.

I think people have a kneejerk reaction to it because they are being PC and not understanding evolution. Evolution isn't all peaches and cream and our flaw to default to ignorance rather than fact find has always been hindered progress.

The subject that dare not speak its name.
Pascals Wager can get you banned if you arent careful how you word it.
But it is asymmetric rules of engagement if atheists can incite worry in the hearts of people by saying theres no afterlife, no karma, no reward, and yet we are not allowed to suggest there IS an afterlife "consequence".

Agreed. It's what you say not who is saying it.
Props to the Mods here. My warning level is still zero.
And I never got any 'formal' flack at Rational Responders.

Hello, new mod here! The issue isn't worry, as I understand it, it's threat. If our suggestions that there's no afterlife worry you... well, I'd suggest getting a thicker skin, but considering those are kind of part and parcel of being an atheist, I'm wondering what views you were expecting to hear, on the Atheist forums?

Meanwhile, eternal punishment classifies as a threat, and it kinda puts a damper on any future conversation. If any atheist threatens you in a similar manner, feel free to report it to us. Mind you, if I'm wrong on any of this, I fully expect the other mods to correct the newbie. Tongue

Hello, new mod here!

Oh great! Was it you who said...if I had my way you'd be banned? I can't recall. Hmmm.

If atheists really do think there is no afterlife, why would they worry about someone proposing long term consequences for ones actions? Thicker skins you were saying....???

Also, the Christian (like the person who got banned recently) will say in their own defence, that in talking about the subject of reaping what you sow, karma, heaven/hell, etc. that they are doing so with an altruistic motive.

Diverse ones!

Atheism is a position with respect to the existence/non-existence of god.
I would expect that the existence of God and the soul and the afterlife actually DO get discussed here. And I like it here because that IS what happens a lot at this forum.

But hey, it's your forum, your rules. And if people are punished (permanently) for breaking the rules set by the Creator of the Forum then thats just the consequences of their own actions right?

Since when has a Christian ever proposed long term consequences for actions? All you ever do is condemn people to an eternal damnation for failing to believe in your savior.

Don't be a pious dick.

Probably not. At any rate, I take this shit seriously: if you end up banned, it'll be by consensus between all the mods, and for a good reason. I'm not about to abuse the trust of people I actually like in order to get rid of those I don't.

Since when does a threat have to be carried out for it to classify as a threat? One of the primary motivations for threatening is often intimidation... you know, appearing threatening?

I'm sure they would, in the same way the mob boss is taking money for protection, rather than a cessation of violent assault.

Discuss all you like, but discussion involves an actual back and forth. Preaching is literally the opposite of that: "You're going to burn in hell," isn't a discussion. All you need to do is couch your words in some form of discourse: don't let hell be the end of the discussion.

I see what you did there: just like god's rules, the rules of this forum were made up by humans! Gotcha.

I probably should have made the "everybody hates me" sarcasm a little more obvious.
No need to keep bumping the thread.
Let it die of natural causes.
