Get a ferret. You can easily disguise it as a cat. They have a closer personality to dogs than cats. So You might like them.

I dislike cats. They're unpredictable and mean and selfish (although I love birds, and the same is true of them).

Get a small dog.

I was allergic to cats. Being around a cat gave me bumps on my arms and I couldn't breathe. Thing is I was exposed to cats a lot in my clients' homes and now I guess I'm ok around them. I still see them and hesitate, though.

Therefore, dogs.

I have the unfortunate setback of being allergic to both cats and dogs so I can't have either. My parents actually had to give their dog and cat away because of my allergies to them.

Makes me feel like poo.

Can you have a bird? Parakeets are just awesome, and can be cuddly and can bond very strongly to you. Plus they're cheap and cheap to feed, and easy to leave on vacation.
