Coheed and Cambria

Coheed and Cambria
Does anyone else on this forum know this band?

I just can't get enough of 'em.

You know how you get a new album and you listen to it alot, until you're more familiar with the songs (or maybe it's just me....)?

I ride my bike to and from work every day, about 5.5 miles either way.

Every day I'm listening to their albums because right now, this music is, well, it's just the bees knees to me. I love it. The vocal and instrumental variety is astounding. I can't get over it. They're sometimes a little heavy, probably considered alternative if anything. I just consider them

AWESOME

There are like 18 different 'voices' you hear, but I learned not long ago all those different voices are sung or spoken by the lead singer, Claudio Sanchez....
far as music goes, THIS GUY

is my god.... and his hair is so pretty....
I love lots of types of music but for some reason I can't leave this band alone.
And there's a lot to their story. Claudio has written a book about Coheed and Cambria (In short they're creations of a genius, with superpowers and stuff... Coheed is the muscle, Cambria is the wisdom) called 'The Black Rainbow'. But I guess he found literature wasn't his forte and so he's writing comics now, 'The Amory Wars'. I'm not a comic book person per se, so I haven't actually read any of those. But I thought the book was decent. Yes. Just decent. Lacking in structure and form and, well, something that I as a non-writer cannot identify, but I don't blame this guy for not doing whatever it is my psyche was crying out for, because he's a musician and not a writer.

Listen, if you will, because they're awesome.

This is one of my favorite songs. I didn't intend to give you the lyric version, just the first search I came up with.

Here's another song and given the variance from the one above, it demonstrates my man Claudio's penchant for audio talent.

And here's a version of his deeper, darker voice talent

This one displays so much of his talent. Keep in mind even when you're hearing 'backgroun voice' they're all his... even the sinister, deep throaty voice that sings 'little maggot, from the westside' All versions of vocals you hear there are him (some may be auto pitched, but no, most aren't)
I'm just infatuated with this band.

Old fogey's who are stuck in beatles land, DON'T listen, save yourselves the earache, because that's surely what you'll hear.

ALKDJNASOIJEW!!!!!!!! Just listening to these guys gets me so fucking pumped!

So. Anyone got moosik recommendations? I love music. It's an escape, an idea to identify with, and for some it's life.

This thread is for suggestions and such, so let's hear (err, actually, see) them!!!

What music does that to you?

And please, if anyone has I-Tunes cards they'll never use, I'm never too self-righteous to accept charity...

Thanks to Cinjin for making it more 'sig space' friendly.
