Catching Flack
I was mocking Christianity, as I often do, with some friends of mine (atheists). I was overheard by an acquaintance of an acquaintance who proceeded to give me grief about mocking what I assume is "her religion."

She assumed I was an atheist and I corrected her, explaining that although I practice atheism when it comes to religion (no worship), I have deistic beliefs. She proceeded to berate me and call me a hypocrite because I was pushing deism on her while mocking christians for their proselytizing. Apparently, simply explaining to someone what your opinion is (upon being accosted), is now dubbed an outreach ministry of some kind. Angry

Is there anyone here who has EVER felt that I have tried to push deism on them in any way shape or form?

Absolutely. Every day. In every way.

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

I would have informed her to keep her ignorant opinions to herself in regards to having "snooped" on a conversation in which she was not actively engaged.

No. I find it easy to forget that you're not an atheist. I suspect your acquaintance-of-an-acquaintance has sandy nether regions.

No, I haven't, but even if you had, if you're intelligent about it, I'm cool with it. I actually like talking theology with intelligent theists; unfortunately, they seem to be a dying breed. Sad

I'm curious as to why you didn't say "fuck off, stop eavesdropping."

But yeah...you deists are as bad as the fucking JWs!

Speaking of which, where is D-P lately?

We've been hatching a plan to bring you into our little cult Min. You'd be quite a trophy at our annual deist barbeques.
