What are your pets? My family has 2 lovebirds named Mango & Whisper, a Chinchilla de jure named Twinkle (but de facto Chinchy) & a grumpy 10-yr old rabbit named Snowflake.

I've had various pets in my life. Goldfish, hamster, gerbil, turtles, cats, dogs, squirrel, and have at least caught and released lizards, an armadillo, frogs, a baby pigeon, and a rabbit. Bare handed. I haven't had a pet since I moved out years ago, since I don;t make much money and don't keep my house clean enough.

I had to put down Pepper, my Norwegian Elghund in October. I'm currently petless myself though my brother/roommate has a black Labrador that I love.

I'm planning on making the rounds at the shelter when I get back from Mexico next month.

I had to put down one of my last dogs. He just got to old and arthritic, plus his teeth were too worn down. So I drove him to the vet, and he actually looked pretty happy because he hadn't been for a nice ride in a while. And then I left him with the lady and went home. And I'm tearing up just typing this. God damn.

I've actually heard it's best to stay with your pet when they put them down, because the pet gets scared. I wonder if I should have stayed, but I just didn't think about it. The vet lady didn't ask.

I have 4 dogs- all rescues. I will allways have rescues. When it comes to putting dogs to sleep I always stand beside them and massage their ears. Its upsetting ,of course, but I prefer to stand with them until the end
