I didn't read the article, because the very idea of rich people being persecuted to the extent that the jews were is ridiculous. So I don't really know how he's connecting the two events. Then again, I'm sure it's no different than the christian persecution complexes, or really much different than any spoiled child being told that s/he isn't going to be spoiled anymore. End of the world because some people are trying to keep them from getting every single thing they want.

No. I mean like they would not be a bit less shameless in their domination of the German economy, Culture and media.
They were also not very interested in parting with their wealth, but unlike these guys, who come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, Jews stood there with a solid ethnic identity that was seperate to the core from the German identity, which made them apathetic as to the condition the ethnic Germans were in post WWI. They simply didn't care, they were only busy with further establishing their place in the status quo.

Of course, there were also Jews that were very patriotic, and had willingly assimilated into the German identity(Like the writer of "Haßgesang gegen England"), but those were very few and often reviled by their Jewish peers.
