NationStates
NationStates is an online browser based game where you run a nation. It is what I was playing during my 2 week ban. Here is my nation: http://www.nationstates.net/nation=satan...ist_states

I was really into NationStates and the NationStates forum when I was a teenager. It's how I learned I wasn't weird, I was just born in the wrong fucking country.

RE: NationStates
I think I played that one before. You get a couple of questions a day to decide how your government is run. I remember getting a few that had effects I didn't intend.

One time it asked me if older people who hadn't saved enough to retire should continue working. I said yes, and the effect was that the elderly were put in had labor jobs. Obviously I wasn't intending for them to work in hard labor. There are a lot of jobs that should be easy for a seventy year old to do without being in construction or whatever.

I think there was also one where the military asked for more money. The one after that was something else needed more money, and the only option they gave me was to take it out of the military budget.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

You do realize that you can dismiss issues?

I'm not sure I remember an option to dismiss an issue after deciding on it. It's been a while since I played.

RE: NationStates
The game is designed to be whimsical, was my impression (I played it a couple of years ago). While you could shape the nation in a general political direction, there was often an unintended consequence to any decision you made. Some of them did not seem to have an effect on the direction you were taking your nation in, so they were probably just included for a laugh.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Does anyone have any suggestions/constructive criticism for my IIwiki page? (Please keep in mind that it is still a work in progress.)

Haven't played in years. Not enough strategy to hold my interest.
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
