Hello
December 3, 2009 at 2:43 am
Hi there everyone!
First post here
I've been looking for a good forum for a while to engage some discussions, share ideas and of course, have some fun. It's been quite a while since the last time I actively participated in one though.
I'm a 22 years old male, my name is Mozair Alves do Carmo (henceforth MAC - in [MAC]Skeptic).
I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have a degree on computer science and work as a programmer for a WebHosting company.
I, like everyone else, was born an atheist, and have been very lucky to stay that way (no abusive child indoctrination) for my whole life - I have to be very thankful to my parents on that.
I love debates, logic, fallacies, poetry, alliterations and philosophy.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys and have nice talks

Yeah, not only classic Catholic doctrines, but the whole... how should I say that, maybe "teenager-market oriented"... evangelical stuff with their musics and kids meetings has been gaining a lot of territory too.
At least on my business though, it is a little different - geeks have a much higher percentage of secularism, even here in Brazil.
One sad recent fact on my country religious "misbehave" (which I don't reckon to be all that different from US ones on that matter): a couple of weeks ago we were hit by a MAJOR electricity blackout, which screwed with more than 60% of the Brazillian territory for at least 4 hours. The president, a barely literate, gave a speech announcing that the chances of this not happening again are really up to god's will.
I've seen that your Religious position says "Christian" - but I reckon that you're probably an open minded person, given you even come to such a place like this forum, you will probably agree with me that Religion + Politics = bad shit

Thanks =)
I was struck by its originality too when I saw it as a contender for the blasphemy contest. Strangely, the winners were much less interesting IMHO.
I would post a link to it, but I still can't.
--- edit ---
Ooops, my mistake, I actually can, there it is, on the signature =)
